Kolkata:The Trinamool Congress has accused a Panchayat pradhan of the BJP in Malda district of morphing a picture of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and posting it on social media.
The BJP leader, however, denied the charge and said the photo was “by mistake” posted on social media by one of her family members.
Trinamool leaders alleged that the BJP-run Chowki Mirdaspur Gram Pamchayat chief Mampi Rajak had done the “mischief” to defame the Chief Minister.
A complaint was lodged against Rajak at the Manikchak police station by some Trinamool leaders, a police officer said.
But Rajak said she was “not at all” involved in the incident. She said the act could have been “mistakenly done” by one of her family members.
