TPCC to celebrate Rajiv Jayanthi on Aug. 20

Hyderabad: TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday said they would hold a series of programs to mark the 75th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi on August 20. 


Speaking to mediapersons here, Uttam said a sadbhavana rally led by party senior leader V. Hanumantha Rao would be kicked off from Rajiv Gandhi statue at Somajiguda crossroads. The rally would be flagged off at 9 am. He said a massive blood donation camp would be organized at 11 am by the activists of the Youth Congress while different wings of the party would hold other programs too. He also said the NSUI would hold an essay-writing competition on the life of Rajiv Gandhi at the Nizam College or in the city. 


The TPCC president said special programs would be organized under the supervision of party general secretary Afzal at 5.30 pm on the same day. A meeting would be held at Prakasam hall in Gandhi bhavan. Former chief minister K. Rosaiah, senior Journalist Ramachandra Murthy and Prof K. Nageswar would address at the meeting.
