Saudi Arabia allocates entry, exit gates at Grand Mosque during Ramzan

The initiative is being implemented by Saudi's General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque in collaboration with various government agencies within the Grand Mosque.

Riyadh: In a bid to ease the experience of Umrah during the month of Ramzan 1445 AH/2024, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has allocated a number of entry and exit gates at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

The initiative is being implemented by Saudi’s General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque in collaboration with various government agencies within the Grand Mosque.

As per a report by the Arabic daily Sabq, Umrah pilgrims can access the Grand Mosque through designated gates like King Abdul Aziz, King Fahd, Umrah Gate, and Al-Salam Gate, as well as doors 85-93 on the ground floor except for 88.

The designated exits include side crossings of 78 – 80, stairway 74, regular stairways 71 – 73 – 85 – 88, King Fahd staircase, doors 75 – 77 and 81 – 83 while the Al-Shubika staircase is designated for emergency cases.

Pilgrims can access various gates on the first floor, including King Fahd Gate, Umrah Gate, Zubair Gate, Ajyad Bridge, Shubaika Bridge, and Othman Bridge.

On the second floor, they can use Al-Arqam stairway elevators, Umrah Gate elevators, Ajyad Stairway elevators, Marwa stairway elevators, and the roof for disabled individuals.
