KENDRAPARA: A man blackmailing his sister-in-law was arrested on Saturday for allegedly threatening her to upload her naked pictures on social media platform in Odisha’s Kendrapara district, police said.
The 29-year-old accused Litu Mallick who is a resident of Raghudeipur village blackmailed his sister in law, aged around 25 years and threatened to make nude pictures public, they said.
According to the Inspector of Derabish Police Station, Umakant Nayak, the accused was seeking sexual favour and threatened the woman that if she does not give in to his advances, he will upload her photos on social media after which she lodged a complaint on March 7.
On the basis of the woman’s complaint, the accused has been arrested and Mallick has confessed to the crime during the interrogation by the police, he said.
The officer added that the accused was booked under different sections of IPC and relevant provisions of Information Technology Act, 2000.
