Jagga Reddy defends Uttam’s pre-election remark

Hyderabad: Referring to the statement of TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy that he would not come to the party office if the Congress party did not come to power in the State in the recent Assembly elections, party MLA from Sangareddy T. Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy on Monday said such statements were common in politics to instill confidence among the party leaders and cadre.

Speaking to media persons in an informal talk in his constituency, Reddy said that there was a lot freedom in the Congress party and added that the issue involving party leader Sarvey
Satyanarayana was an internal issue of the party. Referring to the alliance with TDP, he said the decision was taken at the national level and added that pro-people program were the main reason for the victory of the TRS party in the State. He, however, alleged that the Election Commission also helped the TRS and ensured its victory.

He alleged that it was because of the TRS party, the leaders from other parties were forced to spend Rs 30 crore to win the elections. He said he had won the elections due to the love of the people of his constituency. He said he would get Medak MP seat to the party if ticket was given to his wife Nirmala in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He also said he would take up the issue with the party high command very soon.
