Hyderabad:Lovelorn Kadapa resident dies in scuffles with friends

Hyderabad: In a sensational incident a man hailing from Kadapa district was brutally murdered at a hotel in Sultan Bazaar area on Friday evening.  The police have taken three suspects into custody and are interrogating.

Twenty-three-year-old Sai Reddy, a native of Kadapa district in Andhra Pradesh, came to city few days back along with his friends. He had taken a room in Hyderabad Lodge.

He was reportedly depressed owing to breakup with his girlfriend. On Friday evening Sai Reddy, in drunken a condition broke window panes of the hotel room and reportedly attempted to commit suicide by cutting his wrist. On seeing this Sai Reddy’s friends tried to stop him. Instead of listening to them he tried to stab them. During the scuffle one of his friends pushed the sharp edged window glass into his stomach resulting in the instantaneous death.

The alert staff of the hotel informed the local police about the incident. A team of Sultan Bazaar police along with the dog squad and CLUES team reached the spot.

The dead body of the deceased was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for post mortem.  “We have taken three suspects into custody. We have also begun investigation from all angles. Technical evidence is being collected from the crime scene,” said ACP Sultan Bazaar R Devender. A murder case under IPC section 302 has been registered.
