Hyderabad: Father gets 10 years’ RI for raping daughter

Hyderabad: A special Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act Court on Tuesday convicted 40-year-old father of three and sentenced him to 10 years Rigorous Imprisonment for raping his 10-year-old daughter.

The matter came to light on 26 September 2018 after she watched the video about good touch and bad touch which was displayed at her school and she cried.

Later her school teacher called her mother and informed the same. A case was registered with Alwal police station and the accused remanded to judicial custody, PD Act was invoked against the accused. During his judicial custody under PD Act speedy trial was conducted where the accused ended up with 10 years rigorous imprisonment.

A. Srinivas Rao Assistant Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad stated that the accused identified as Md. Anees who is a native of Uttarakhand came to Hyderabad in 2004 for lively hood and got married in 2006, in his conjugal life he was blessed with three children.

According to girl’s statement her father would come drunk, repeatedly raped her many times and threatened to kill her if she revealed to anyone.

After the completion of investigation filed charge sheet by A. Srinivas Rao ACP, Cyberabad in the Court. During the trial, on Tuesday N. Narsing Rao judge of MSJ Court, LB Nagar convicted the accused Md. Anees with Rigorous Imprisonment for 10 years and fined with Rs. 5,000. The court also granted compensation of Rs 3 lakh to victim and her younger sister equally from victim compensation fund which shall be payable by District Legal Services Authority directly for their welfare and further studies.
