Govt urges court to vacate stay on elections to 77 municipality

Hyderabad: The State government today urged the court to vacate cases on 77 municipalities against the polls and enable it to prepare for the polls.

The government counsel informed the single bench that division bench had asked it to get vacated the stay orders on 77 municipalities against the polls. The counsel  submitted the details to the court on the observations made by the division bench to go ahead  with conducting polls  to all municipalities and corporations in the State. 

The counsel had also apprised the court that the Election Commission was ready to hold the polls for all the municipalities and corporations in Telangana State. On this, the court adjourned the next  hearing to October 31.

    All ward-wise photo electoral rolls were published in the municipalities and corporations in last July and people should check the same. In a release, the State Election Commission informed the youth of 18 years to get enrolled their names in the voter list. All those who are 18 years should register their names in the municipalities and corporations going for polls, the Commission added. .
