Muscat: Cyclone Kyarr is moving towards Oman’s Southwest coastlines. On Monday and Tuesday, the residents of the country felt the impact of the cyclone as high waves hit the coastline.
The authorities have also issued advisory to the residents living near the coastal areas and low-lying places, fishermen and seafarers to exercise caution due to the high tidal waves.
Despite the warning, some of the residents not only visited the coastlines but also shared videos of high waves on social media.
According to the report published in Times of Oman, authorities made arrangements for emergency services.
Meanwhile, in a statement, Oman National Emergency Management Centre said, “Electricity has been cut in Asilah area in Jalan Bani Bu Ali as a precautionary measure.”
As a precautionary measure, the center also announced the closure of many roads of coastal areas. It also asked people to avoid coastal areas.
