Chakravarthula Raghavachari is no more

Hyderabad: Chakravarthula Raghavachari, 81, veteran journalist and former editor of “Vishalandra” newspaper passed away on  Monday morning due to age-related problems in a hospital.


Born on September 10, 1939, Raghavachari hailed from Shatapuram in Palakurthi mandal of Warangal district.

He was also a well-known Communist leader and his services to the student movement as the AISF State President were immense. Raghavachari served as Editor of “Visalandra” for 30 years from 1972 and continued till 2005. He also served as chairman of the CPI State Control Commission and as a member of the CPI National Control Commission.


Raghavachari’s body will be shifted to Makdoom Bhavan, the CPI office in Himayatnagar, from where, his mortal remains will be taken to the “Visalandhra” office at  Vijayawada in the evening for the public to pay their respects. CPI leader Ramakrishna said his body would be taken in a procession to the crematorium for the last rites this evening.
