Akbar Owaisi blames Center for not Providing Funds to State

Hyderabad: AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Saturday heaped praises on the state government for constructing a marvel like Kaleswaram lift irrigation project. He said that Kaleswaram was the pride of the country. He made these remarks while initiating the debate on the annual budget in the state assembly.

He said that the introduction of GST has had an impact on all sectors of the country. He alleged that the central government had not extended support to Mission Bhageeratha and Mission Kakatiya schemes and commended that the state government had completed these two prestigious schemes despite facing several financial constraints.

He alleged that the backward areas of the state didn’t receive any kind of development funds from the Center for their development. He also alleged that the state also didn’t receive its legitimate funds from the central government.  Owaisi, however, conceded that the impact of the economic slowdown had affected the state too.

It appeared that Owaisi spoke like a ruling TRS party leader instead of an ally of the ruling party. He predicted that the TRS would win in the upcoming municipal elections with a bumper majority while noting that the state government has successfully implemented all its poll promises. He urged the state government to take up steps for protection of Urdu language in the state. Earlier, Owaisi took part in a question and answer session on the issue of the protection of the Musi river.

Citing that the river is being polluted a lot due to varied factors, he urged the state government to take steps for its protection.
